SOVIET UNION 1943 WRITER IVAN TURGENEV (1818-1883) SOLO FRANKING FROM ARMENIA

Erivan 1944 (2- June) – Official correspondence in Armenian from the political education institution of the trade workers, bearing a single 30k Turgenev, tied by the Erivan cds, and sent to the small mountain city of Berd in northeast Armenia. Receiver on reverse Berd 26 June 1944. Postal tariff of 6 February 1939. Very Fine.

Very scarce usage of the Turgenev issue, especially rare in Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic and with a striking destination (Berd 1939 population: 4,400).
