SOVIET AIRMAIL ROUTE MOSCOW - KHARKOV - ROSTOV on DON
Moscow 1926 (14 July) - Domestic Registered Airmail envelope with 1924 Airplane 5k (2), 10k and 15k, making up a 35k franking (23k airmail + 10 k registration, tariff of 11 February 1926), sent to Rostov on Don via the MOSCOW - KHARKOV - ROSTOV air route. Arrival on the back the very next day "ROSTOV 15 07 1926". The 5k and 10k stamps with variety overprinted misplaced. Very Fine.
The first segment of the Moscow-Kharkov-Rostov line (later Baku-Tiflis) was opened in May 1923. This southern line was operated by the Junkers (planes) organization.
