Moscow 1954 (17 April) - Domestic Innercity mail franked with 40k "Lenin Death Anniversary" (tariff of 16 September 1948), tied by the TEMPORARY POSTMARK of the WORLD CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP. Arrival on back 18 April 1954. Very Fine.
A scarce temporary postmark, and a SECOND DAY usage of the "Birth House of Lenin" (issued 16 April 1954). The World Chess Championship was held in Moscow from March 16 until May 13, 1954.
