SOVIET TEMPORARY POSTMARK: 1939 MOSCOW ALL UNION AGRICULTURAL FAIR "BCXB"
Moscow 1939 (22 August) - Special illustrated card printed especially for the Agricultural Fair, franked with the 30k (tariff of 6 February 1939 for a domestic letter: 30k although here it should be postcard at 15k), cancelled with the special TEMPORARY POSTMARK of the All union Agricultural Fair "MOSCOW 22.8.39 BCXB" (∅ 25mm). Very Fine.
Rare item combining both the special card, stamp and temporary postmark of the exhibition. This temporary postmark was not recorded by Vovin in his 1960s listing.

Note: the All Union Agricultural Exhibition opened on 1st August 1939 north of Moscow, not far from the village of Ostankino. With over 200 buildings set on 600 acres of land, the 1939 Fair celebrated both the achievements of Soviet agriculture as well as brotherhood of the people of the USSR.
