Alatyr 1926 (21 July) - Domestic registered envelope franking with Soviet Definitive 4k and POSTAGE DUE 14k used as postage stamp, making up a correct 18k rate (8k + 10k registration, tariff of 1st February 1926). Commercial (bank) correspondance, arrival Saratov 23 July 1926. Very Fine.
From the 1st February 1926 until 15 May 1927, Tax / Postrage Due stamps were authorized for franking the mail as postage stamps (without any overprint or signs of any kind).
