RIGA 1832 BOOTLEG MAIL TO DANISH CONSUL IN NORWAY
Riga 1832 (February) - A very fine folded entire sent from Riga to Tobias Wattne [1780-1861] (see photo), Danish Consul in the very small city of MANDAHL at the south coast of NORWAY.
Probably sent per bootleg via the Baltic Sea (manuscript counting of fees on the inside of the wrapper "9 - 18"). Mandahl was a small village located at the southest tip of the Norvegian coast.
