CAUCASUS VILLAGE TSESI, KUTAIS PROVINCE : UNIQUE
Tsesi, Kutais Province 1915 (1st January) - Postcard sent to Kharkov, sent unfranked and with postage due fees "6k." applied, on departure two strikes of the extremely rare double circle handstamp "TSESI KUTAIS 01 1 1913" (∅ 26mm, Ashford Type 1), one of the strikes with some digits wrongly placed (which probably justified a second corrected strike). Arrival Kharkov 5 Januray 1915. Very Fine.
A recent discovery and probably unique mail from Tsesi, previously recorded only on one single stamp in Ashford´s Imperial Stamps Used in Transcaucasia (see Part Four, page 286)
Note: Tsesi was a small village located north east of Sachkeri, first mentionned in the post official lists only in 1914 (missing from the 1893 list).
