CAUCASUS VILLAGE GURDZHANI, TIFLIS PROVINCE : UNIQUE
Gurdzhani, Tiflis Province 1913 (13 March) - Postcard sent to Telav, postage paid with 1k Arms & 2k Romanov (3 kopek: tariff of 20 march 1879) and tied with the extremely rare double circle handstamp "GURDZHANI TIFLIS 13 03 1913" (∅ 26mm, Ashford Type 1). Arrival Telav Tiflis same day. Very Fine.
A recent discovery and probably unique mail from Gurdzhani, previously recorded only on one single stamp in Ashford´s Imperial Stamps Used in Transcaucasia (see Part Three, page 167 :"So far, only a single Gurdzhani cancellation has been recorded (...) on a single 2k Romanov stamp")
