SOVIET AIRMAIL ROUTE CENTRAL ASIA TASHKENT - MOSCOW
Tashkent 1938 (11 September) - Domestic Registered Airmail 20k stationery envelope uprated with 1937 Soviet Definitives, sent to Moscow via the TASHKENT - MOSCOW air route. 80k franking paying the correct registered inland airmail letter (tariff of 16 February 1938). Arrival on the back "MOSCOW 13 09 1938". Envelope teared off on the left upon opening, otherwise Very Fine.
Postal communications between Central Asia and Moscow were of utmost importance and from 1st May 1930 the air route was connecting Tashkent to Moscow via Samara-Kuybyshev, Orenburg, Aralsk, Kazalinsk and Kzyl Orda (about 3350 km). See Mr Ackerman excellent reference book "Via The Red Skies".
