SOVIET AIRMAIL ROUTE SAMARA - MOSCOW
Buguruslan 1934 (9 June) - Registered envelope to Moscow, sent by rail until SAMARA where the mail was handed over to the SAMARA - MOSCOW air route. 40k franking paying the correct registered inland letter (tariff of 25 Februaray 1933), as the letter was sent without "airmail" upgrading, but for some reasons at Samara the mail was transmitted via airmail. Arrival on the back "MOSCOW AIRPORT 10 06 1934", with two additional Moscow postmarks (11 June & 25 June). Very fine.
A rare airmail route, with a fine combination of rail and plane transport.
