SOVIET AIRMAIL OBORSK EXPEDITION - TRANS-SIBERIAN LINE
Oborsk 1934 (10 October) - Envelope to Moscow, sent via the TRANS-SIBERIAN IRKUTSK - VLADIVOSTOK segment, via Khabarovsk. Franked at the airmail Express rate (80k, tariff inland Express letter since 15 May 1932). Transit via Khabarov on front, arrival on back Moscow 29 October.
From Oborsk, the mail was carried by surface until Khabarovsk, where it was transmtitted West via airmail. The route was the second segment of the Trans-Siberian opened in the end of 1932 between Vladivostok (then Khabarovsk) and Irkutsk, the first segment being from Irkutsk until Sverdlovsk (opened in 1929). Total travel to Moscow more than 8000 km.
