Kharkov 1937 (18 February) - Postal sationery 50k envelope paying the correct international letter rate to Spain (tariff of 1st May 1936). Sent to Barcelona during the Spanish Civil War, the city was under the Republican control at that time. Censor tape and recorded boxed military handstamp "REPUBLICA ESPANOLA CENSURA" struck in violet. Very Fine item.

Very rare, only a few Soviet covers known to Spanish Republican controlled areas during the Civil War. A striking destination to a country in war, specialist item.
