SOVIET MILITARY FORTRESS MAIL DURING CIVIL WAR
Kushka Zakasp. 1921 (20 January) - Registered envelope to Petrograd, correctly franked at the Free Post tariff (inland registered, first rate: 10 rubles from 10 March 1920) with a 10k Arms revaluated at 10 R. Arrival Petrograd February 1921. Very Fine.
Exceptional mail from that remote soviet Central Asia outpost at that period. Kushka (actual Serhetabat, Turkmenistan) was seized from Afghanistan by Russian troops in 1885, who built a fortress there.
